1955 Porsche Speedster

Offered here is an outstanding 1955 Pre A-Porsche 356 Speedster, one of only 1,700 built worldwide. This particular example began its life shipped to Max Hoffman, the U.S. Porsche distributor located in New York city. It was initially registered in California where it spent its first twenty eight years. The current owner purchased the car in 1981 and a few years later brought it to Michigan, where it currently resides. Amazingly, this Speedster has been driven only 50,886 miles from new.
The Speedster has been refreshed by the current owner in the forty four years he has had it. The car was originally red, but was repainted black before the present owner bought it. After a time, the paint deteriorated, so the current owner had the body stripped to bare metal and repainted its current glossy black. The interior was also redone. Leather seat covers in the same matching pattern and color replaced the original vinyl ones. Coco Mats have been added. The black convertible top and windshield were replaced recently, and the side curtains are in perfect shape. The end result of these cosmetic changes are show stopping.

The original 1500 normal engine was replaced by the previous owner with a similar one. In 1983, the current owner upgraded the engine with a big bore kit and Zenith carburetors, installed by a 356 specialist, with parts obtained from Stoddard Imported Cars in Willoughby, OH. The transmission was also refreshed at the same time.
​
The Speedster has a black, centrally zipped tonneau cover, a wooden Nardi steering wheel and chrome wheels. There is a tiny ding in the right front fender and one in the right front hubcap. Four new 15 inch Michelin X tires were mounted last year. Service records are included, as well as the spare tire (which is not shown in the photo gallery). The car runs great and needs nothing. There has never been any rust on the vehicle. It has been stored during winters in a heated garage, and has been driven regularly, though minimally. The owner has a large car collection, but drives all of his vehicles less and less. As a result, he has decided to “thin the herd.” And sell some of his prized possessions.

This 1955 Speedster is an outstanding example of an iconic car, both in terms of appearance and drivability. It has been invited to, and displayed at Eyes on Design and the Concours d’Elegance of America. Any car collector would be proud to add this rare, pristine Pre-A Speedster to their collection.

The Shelby Cobra has a history and notoriety unique in the automotive world. With originals becoming harder and more expensive to find, it is no surprise to see a burgeoning replica market. There are many replica manufacturers. Factory Five Racing is considered to be one of the top sources for these fiberglass composite body cars.

Offered here is a fine example of a Factory Five Racing Shelby 427 style Cobra roadster (https://www.factoryfive.com/). It was a built by Factory Five as their Mark 3 version in 2006, and is in excellent condition. The fiberglass composite body is finished in blue with dual white racing stripes. with beautiful period correct 17” Vintage Halibrand style replica wheels with knockoff spinners - plus side exhaust pipes, a chrome hoop roll bar, wind wings, chrome jack points front & rear, and a external Le Mans style gasoline filler cap, adding to its appearance and authenticity.
The interior is black, with full Autometer instrumentation, a three spoke 14 in. wood steering wheel, five point harnesses and Cobra logo floor mats.

This Cobra roadster is powered by a Ford Racing 302 cu. in. (5.0L) V8 engine, with MSD ignition and a new Holley four barrel carburetor. The transmission is a Tremec T5 five speed manual. It has a stout four inch diameter tubular frame designed and built by Factory Five, with adjustable coilovers at all four corners. Acceleration is impressive, and stopping power is provided by 4 wheel disc brakes. 3-Link Deluxe Rear Suspension Kit with KONI coil-overs, forged lower control arms, and panhard bar.

It is clean on the exterior, interior and underside, has a clean Carfax report, with no accidents or damage reported to CARFAX (available on request), and a clear Michigan title.

For sale is a very clean, gently driven 2017 Porsche 718 Cayman. It is finished in Agate Gray Metallic with a black interior.
