The last and the best. The 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 presented here represents the final year of the British “big” Healey production. It includes all the refinements and improvements throughout the 3000 model cycle which started in 1959. The in line 6 cylinder three liter engine was upgraded to 150 horsepower and with its 5 speed overdrive transmission and a weight of only 2548 lb. would accelerate from 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds with a top speed of 119 mph. This performance was significantly better than its British 4 cylinder competition – MGB and Triumph TR4, and could give the more expensive Jaguar E Type a run for its money. Austin Healey enthusiasts generally consider the 1967 model to be the most collectible of the big Healeys.

The Healey offered here is the recipient of a full frame off nut and bolt restoration resulting in one of the finest Healeys available anywhere. The restoration was performed in 2007-8 and is fully documented with numerous photos and verbiage. At the time, the car was owned by Andy and Carolyn Fedus of Petoskey, MI. It was restored by Peter Schwindt III of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada and painted and assembled by Signage North (also in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario). Subsequently, the Feduses exhibited the vehicle at car shows in northern Michigan. Mr. Fedus died shortly thereafter and his daughter inherited the car. She stored the car in Traverse City, MI from 2010 to 2021, when it was sold to the current owner. Shortly after the current owner purchased it, he moved from northern Michigan to New England and left the car in Traverse City since he had no room for it at his new residence and as a result has decided to sell the vehicle.

The car is an outstanding example of a restoration to concours Austin Healey as can be seen by examining the attached pictures. Further, it is a correct specifications car with no modifications. The car was last serviced in 2020 and hardly driven since then. Its Michelin XZX 195 SR tires are in excellent condition. Some service records are available. The car starts and runs as it should and to our knowledge has never been in an accident. This exquisite Healey will make a wonderful addition to any car collection. It may be seen in Traverse City, MI and can be purchased for $68,900.

Porsche Logo Trans 2

1982 Porsche

3.2 SOHC Flat Six Engine, 240 HP (est.)
Five Speed Manual Transaxle
VIN: WP0EA0912CS162042
132,000 Miles

The “Super Carrera” ushered a more simplified 911 range into the 1980s. A 3.0L engine and rear flares were standard for all, and it’s been said that the 911 would have ended here if not for continued enthusiasm from the Porsche brass. The 911SC remains an air-cooled favorite, as seen with the many restorations, builds, and spirited drivers on the road today.

In black with a tan interior, this SC Targa (“G body”) was purchased by the current owner in May, 1998, and has been improved and well maintained ever since. The engine was totally rebuilt in 2007 (at 92,946 mi), by Tim Pott (a premier engine builder and tuner, former SCCA race car builder, driver, and former PCA Rally Sport Region President), with new JE pistons & Perfect Bore cylinders, Increasing the displacement from 3.0L to 3.2L, with a compression ratio of 9.5:1. PMO carburetors replaced the mechanical fuel injection (original included). Higher performance Webcam camshafts, MSDS ignition, Magnecor plug wires, and distributor re-mapping were added, resulting in an estimated 240 HP, with a  0-60 MPH acceleration time of 6 sec., and a top speed of 140 MPH. It is a strong runner.

The transmission was rebuilt in 2014 at 125,596 miles, with new main shaft and pinion bearings, and all new seals. The suspension is moderately lowered, with new Polybronze control arm and spring plate bushings, followed by a four wheel alignment. SSI heat exchangers and a Dansk free flow muffler have been fitted. An air to fuel ratio gage was added to the center console. A modern audio head unit with Bluetooth has been added. It recently received a thorough inspection and the following items were replaced: spark plugs, wheel speed sensor, valve cover gaskets, drive belts, oil and filter. It has also recently received a new battery, new hood struts and tires (Michelins, since photos taken).

Disclosures: While the body is original and unmolested, there are the usual stone chips on the hood, a scrape mark on the driver side rear fascia side, and normal patina overall.  The A/C is all there, but not blowing cold (it won’t hold a charge, now awaiting area shop schedule to assess/repair). The speedometer recently started reading erroneously, e.g., at speeds above 60 mph, and despite several attempts, has not achieved accuracy. The tachometer and all other gages work fine. The interior is in very good condition, with no dash pad cracks, seat splits or excess wear.

All service records & receipts since 2007 are included, as is a four binder set of Porsche Workshop Manuals. A clean Carfax report is available, with no accidents or damage reported and the car has a clear MI Title.

2009 Audi R8

420 HP 4.2-Liter DOHC 32 Valve DFI Aluminum V8

Six Speed Manual Transaxle, Gated Shifter

Quattro All Wheel Drive

VIN: WUAAU34259N003243

22,199 Miles

“The R8 is a thoroughbred sports car with the genes of a true racer. I’ve been able to take it out for a test drive and am impressed with its performance,“ said six-time Le Mans winner Jacky Ickx in front of a group of journalists, guests and others, when the car first came out.
Car and Driver magazine wrote in their article headline at the time, “Supercar gate-crasher. If Jacky Ickx says this 420-hp car is cool, who's gonna argue?” later wrote, “In Case You Forgot, the Audi R8 Is a Pretty Perfect Sports Car”.

This R8 is finished in Phantom Black with optional Carbon Sigma side blades, and a black interior. It is equipped with the magnetic-ride adaptive damping system, bi-xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, an aluminum fuel-filler door, an auto-deploying rear spoiler, and twin exhaust outlets exiting through each side of the rear fascia. Clear paint protection film has been applied to the front of the car. Polished 19″ double-spoke alloy wheels are shod with (235/35 front and 295/30 rear) Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with 2018 date codes.  Stopping power is via R8-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.

The cabin features heated and power-adjustable bucket seats trimmed in black leather with white stitching with a matching dashboard, door panels, carpets, and floor mats. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, power accessories, a gated shifter, and an upgrade to a Kenwood eXcelon infotainment system with smartphone compatibility. The newer steering wheel (original included) was sourced from a later-model R8. Instrumentation includes a 220-mph speedometer, tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and a digital message display.

This is a two owner car, first registered in Maryland, with time in Virginia prior to its acquisition by the seller in June 2018. While eminently capable in any weather, it has not been driven in rain or snow since. The air conditioning system was recharged in May 2020, and recent service included an oil & filter change.

The Carfax report shows an incident in June, 2010, with damage to the left side. The driver’s door was properly refinished, and there is no indication of damage. Another minor incident is shown in May 2010, when a shopping cart reportedly struck the car, both properly repaired. As it sits, the car is pristine and mark free, inside and out. Any concerns about its future ownership should be more than offset by the included and transferable Fidelity Platinum Warranty, with its complete coverage to April, 2025 and 78,000 miles!

This R8 comes with a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s business, as well as all Audi books, records, two key fobs and an Audi car cover.

1972 DeTomaso Pantera

Ford 351 CID/5.7L 330 HP V8 Engine

5-Speed ZF Manual Transaxle

52,235 Miles

The 1972 DeTomaso Pantera offered here is a true sports car classic. Its yellow knife edge exterior styling as well as its mid-engine design remain contemporary today while its 351 cu in Cleveland Ford V8 engine coupled to its gated shifter 5 speed transaxle allow it to perform competitively with today’s sports cars. Rising yet still reasonable values combined with a healthy percentage of regularly driven Panteras presents a best of both worlds situation. Collectors can rely on unrestored or all original Panteras to appreciate over time and enthusiasts can enjoy driving an Italian exotic with a mid-engine American V8 backed up by an extensive catalog of available equipment and a strong community.

This Pantera is an excellent example of a first generation chrome bumper model. It has been carefully maintained by a meticulous car collector who has owned the car for the past four years. The car has had its original cylinder heads rebuilt and its intake manifold and carburetors (originals included) replaced with improved Edelbrock and Holley units. New spark plugs, wires, accessory drive belts were added and its vulnerable cooling system tubes have been replaced. Additionally all of the hard to find badges including the Power by Ford badge on the deck lid which took a year to find plus the DeTomaso logo wheel center caps, horn button and floor mats are present. The car has no rust, visible or hidden. Its original staggered Campagnolo magnesium alloy wheels are now shod with Hancook Ventus tires. Records and receipts since purchase four years ago are included.

This vehicle is being offered for sale only because the owner is thinning out his collection. In terms of condition and originality, this vehicle is comparable to a 1973 Pantera which sold on Bring a Trailer on May 13, 2021 (lot # 17853) for $125,000. The Pantera offered here is priced for a quick sale at $93,500 firm.

1994 MERCEDES-BENZ SL600 (R129)
VIN: WDBFA76E1RF104394
43,362 MILES

Retired Mercedes-Benz design chief Bruno Sacco counted the R129 among his team's greatest accomplishments. The SL 600 version is highly regarded, with its smooth-running 12-cylinder, with jet-like thrust. The R129 SL was the perfect platform for the powerful 5.9-liter 12-cylinder. The car boasted contemporary styling, sturdy construction, smooth road holding and numerous built-in safety features. One such feature: an automatic roll bar that automatically snaps upright in the event of a rollover. The sensor-controlled bar is electromagnetically triggered, then raised by the force of compressed springs and secured by locking pawls, all within 0.3 seconds. It can also be raised and lowered by the driver via a switch on the center console.. The R129's power folding soft top can be opened or closed in 30 seconds, and the removable hardtop is made of aluminum, weighing just 75 pounds.

Finished in Imperial Red (582), with a matching removable hardtop, and a black convertible top, and a Mushroom (275) leather interior, this 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL600 is a very attractive, unmolested original car. Adding to its appeal, it is powered by a 364 48 valve V12 engine producing 389 horsepower at 5,200 rpm. The 12 cylinder engine is incredibly smooth and very powerful, and with its a 4 speed automatic transmission, this car with accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph, and will turn the ¼ mile in 13.9 seconds.

As expected, this high speed luxury cruiser is well equipped. It comes with power heated seats, burled walnut trim, power convertible top, power steering, power four wheel disc brakes with ABS, built in roll bar, wind blocker, Bose stereo  with rear speakers, subwoofer, cassette player, and CD changer; cruise control, leather steering wheel and much more. The original base price was $120,100.

The car is in excellent condition. It has been fanatically maintained by the current owner, a collector, since 2018. The odometer reads only 43,362 miles. In fact, he has driven the car less than 1,000 miles since he purchased it. This SL600 has a clean Carfax and complete service records in a binder. Everything works as it should, including the power top.

The owner is only selling this one because he has another similar SL600 in his collection.

1963 Studebaker Avanti R2

Supercharged 289 cu. in. Studebaker V8 Engine

Four Speed Manual Transmission

Restored Original Matching Numbers Car

Serial No. 63R 1338

Body No. 63R-Q 531

Engine No. RS 1186

125,947 miles

Avanti Background

The Studebaker Avanti is a personal luxury coupe manufactured and marketed by Studebaker Corporation between June 1962 and December 1963. A halo car for the maker, it was marketed as "America's only four-passenger high-performance personal car." Described as "one of the more significant milestones of the postwar industry", the stunning Raymond Loewy-styled car offered unrivaled safety and exceptional high-speed performance. The fastest production car in the world at its introduction, a completely stock Avanti could reach over 178 mph with its supercharged 289 cubic inch engine. In all, it broke 29 world speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The Avanti was developed at the direction of Studebaker president, Sherwood Egbert. The car's design theme is the result of sketches Egbert "doodled" on a jet-plane flight west from Chicago 37 days after becoming president of Studebaker in February 1961. Designed by Raymond Loewy's team of Tom Kellogg, Bob Andrews, and John Ebstein on a 40-day crash program, the Avanti featured a radical fiberglass body mounted on a modified Studebaker Lark Daytona 109-inch convertible chassis and powered by a modified 289 Hawk engine. A Paxton supercharger was offered as an option. In eight days, the stylists finished a clay scale model with two different sides: one a two-place sports car, the other a four-seat GT coupe. Tom Kellogg, a young California stylist hired for this project by Loewy, "…felt it should be a four-seat coupe." Loewy envisioned a low-slung, long-hood-short-deck semi-fastback coupe with a grille-less nose and a wasp-waisted curvature to the rear fenders, suggesting a supersonic aircraft.

The Avanti's complex body shape would have been both challenging and prohibitively expensive to build in steel, with Studebaker electing to mold the exterior panels in glass-reinforced plastic (fiberglass), outsourcing the work to the Molded Fiberglass Company  in Ashtabula, Ohio (the same company that built the fiberglass panels for the Chevrolet Corvette beginning in 1953).

The Avanti featured front disc-brakes that were British Dunlop designed units, made under license by Bendix, "the first American production model to offer them." It was one of the first bottom breather designs, where air enters from under the front of the vehicle rather than via a conventional grille, a design feature much more common after the 1980s. It was also the first to have an integrated roll bar.

The 1963 Avanti is included in Hemmings Classic Car magazine’s Commemorative Issue: Top 100 American Collector Cars of All Time. They wrote, “Low production, a mesmerizing-looking coupe shape formed in fiberglass, and the optional supercharged V-8 could render the Avanti collectible on its own. But the ultra-modern Avanti was so lovely and distinctive, it was built for another quarter-century after Studebaker folded. The first-year model with the round headlamps are the purest of the original design, making them the most desirable.” Celebrity Avanti Owners include Ian Fleming, Johnny Carson, Richard Carpenter, Alice Cooper, Andy Granatelli, Julius (Dr. J.) Erving, Sandy Koufax, Rod Serling, Frank Sinatra, Ricky Nelson, Dick Van Dyke, Roger Ward, and others.

This Avanti

Is a prime example of the iconic first year round headlight model, and a rare and desirable option combination. The R2 Supercharged 289 cu. in. 289 HP V8, 4-Speed Manual Transmission (Borg-Warner T10), and the optional Dana 45B Limited Slip “Twin Traction” differential. All are original to the car and are “numbers matching”. Its black exterior, with Fawn and Elk interior are all in excellent condition.

  • It is number 338 of 2,418 1963 models produced, it is one of 1,552 R2s and one of only ~400 R2s with the 4-speed manual (Borg Warner T10) transmission.

  • It was purchased new in California 6/26/63, for $4,398.72 by a woman with good taste. Ownership continued with her son, who later restored it in California. The next owner in British Columbia, Canada bought it in 2009, and the current owner (who has had several Avantis) acquired it in 2017.

  • Having spent most of its life on the west coast of the U.S. and Canada, it is essentially rust free, and the “hog troughs”/torque boxes are solid.

  • The body is comprised of over 100 pieces of polyester/fiberglass composite, with the floor pan being the largest automotive composite piece at the time.

History, Maintenance, Replacements and Upgrades

  • The car’s complete history, from its build order 7/11/62), through purchase, to present is available and included, with detailed records and receipts over its 58 year life to date.

  • This Avanti is a restored “matching numbers” original, with mostly NOS parts where needed. The only modifications/improvements are a modern dual chamber master cylinder, a newer electronic distributor (original dual point unit included) and a modern, but similar appearance Delco/Nippondenso alternator with integrated voltage regulator (the original & restored voltage regulator is in place, used only for appearance and as an electrical junction box). The carburetor has been professionally rebuilt, and the fuel pump replaced. All chrome items have been replated, and stainless steel moldings have been polished

  • This Avanti underwent a complete restoration in California in 1992, commissioned by the son of its original owner, with an exterior color change to black (from the original gold), and a new interior in the original Fawn & Elk tones. Photos are included. Additional items and upgrades have been done since, more recently.

  • The engine was rebuilt at 86,000 miles, and still runs strong, with good compression as recently measured.

  • A new windshield & seal, and new rear window seal were installed in 2016.

  • The brakes have all been redone over the past few years, with new pads, calipers, rotors & flexible hoses at the front, and recently replaced shoes, springs, cylinders, flexible & hard steel lines at the rear. Inner and outer front wheel bearings are also recent, as are the shock absorbers.

  • All fluids have been recently replaced, as were the accessory drive belts.

  • The supercharger was rebuilt in 2018 by Craig Conley of Paradise Wheels in CA (source of all Paxton parts) and installed with new dual drive belts.

  • A new dash pad and glove box door were manufactured from the original tooling and installed in 2019 by Nostalgic Motors, using the proper self-colored Fawn vinyl as OEM (with no dye or paint). All red instrument bulbs were replaced.

  • OEM ’84 Avanti steel wheels (15 X 6, an upgrade from the original 15 X 5) with an unmarked set of NOS OEM wheel covers and new Uniroyal Tiger Paw radial narrow whitewall tires (P215/70 R15) are currently mounted. A set of Dayton 60 spoke chrome wire wheels are included, with Michelin P205/70 15 all season narrow whitewall radial tires mounted.

  • A new 3EE battery was recently (3/21) installed. A fitted car cover is included.

Extensive, with virtually all records & receipts since new, including its production order, factory build sheet, factory quality notes, dealer order, bill of sale, repair and parts receipts, and more. The original shop manual, plus a new copy and a parts manual are included, as are the recently published 1963/1964 Studebaker Avanti Authenticity Manual, with its Addendum Number One, 2019.

Show History & Opportunity

This Avanti has been invited to and featured in the prestigious Eyes on Design show (2018) in Grosse Pointe, MI (where Avantis were featured), and the Wings & Wheels at Willow Run shows in 2018 & 2019, as well as other regional and local shows. Appropriate to, and noted at the Willow Run Wings & Wheels show related to aircraft, the Avanti was the first American production car to incorporate aircraft features, including its front disc brakes, full instrumentation and overhead switches, all with red lighting.
