2005 represented the first year model of the second generation Porsche Boxster (987), successor to the immensely successful first generation Boxster (986) first introduced in 1997. Major changes for the 987 include a 2.7 liter 240 horsepower base engine, all new sheet metal including new headlights replacing the controversial “fried egg” headlights on the 986, a taller convertible top to provide more headroom, new seats, a new instrument panel, and upgraded airbag system.

Offered here is a well maintained, affordable 2005 Porsche Boxster. It is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a black standard leather interior and a black power convertible top. There have been four owners and the current one is a PCA member who has owned a number of Porsches. Presented here is one of the nicest Porsche 914s currently available for sale. This vehicle was subject to a complete and caring $60,000 rotisserie restoration, plus a full mechanical restoration with upgrades. The engine was completely rebuilt and modified by Rimco of Orange, California and now generates a dyno tested 154 horsepower and 174 ft. lbs. of torque - versus the original motor’s 91 horsepower and 105 ft. lbs. of torque. The end result of these improvements is an outstanding looking car with significantly more power than a stock 914.

The car is a striking guards orange with custom matching orange plaid seats. The underside of the vehicle is as clean as the topside. It sports a 5-speed manual transmission and disc brakes, both of which were fairly rare in the early 1970’s. It’s pop-up headlights are always an attention getter and the removable roof makes for fun driving on sunny, warm days. A Momo steering wheel, and a Pioneer audio unit with Sirius and Alpine 6.5 Coax Series speakers have been added.

The current owner, a Southeast Michigan PCA member, purchased the car in 2022 from another local PCA member. Inspection found no flaws or anything in need of repair or replacement, and that the tire wear was OK and uniform.

Included are all owner’s manuals, two key fobs, Porsche dealer service records since ownership (Oct., 2021, at 10,600 miles), a clear Michigan title, and a clean Carfax report (available on request).

Offered here is a very nice, low mileage TR6, finished in Mimosa Yellow, purchased by its current owner in September, 2011. Prior to its purchase, the car was evaluated mechanically and for rust by a noted British car mechanic in Traverse City, MI. It was found to be quite sound in all aspects.

This TR6 is in excellent mechanical condition, including the engine, transmission and clutch. Major brake repair was done at purchase, approximately 1,000 miles ago. There is no body or frame rust. The convertible top is serviceable, and all its windows are clear. Tires were recently replaced with General Altimax RT 45S and alignment done (July, 2024) The carburetors were recently (June, 2024) rebuilt and tuned, and the rear brakes rebuilt, with new cylinders and a new vacuum booster and master cylinder - along with new plugs, points & condenser - all by a qualified shop and mechanic nearby.

Disclosures: One of the male snaps on the top boot is missing. Interior/upholstery is very good, though there is some minor delaminating on a section of the wood dash.

There have been no known accidents or damage during its lifetime. Service records and receipts from current ownership are included, with a spreadsheet summarizing them. Also included are its convertible top boot/cover, a tonneau cover and a full car cover.
